Services
Addiction Programmes
A 90-day, abstinence-based outpatient programme combining twice-weekly in-person group therapy at Sea Point Medical Centre (Mondays & Wednesdays), Saturday morning Zoom check-ins, and personalised one-on-one counselling with a counsellor. In a safe, compassionate setting, participants explore addiction’s powerlessness, learn evidence-based coping strategies, share experiences with peers and receive tailored feedback to build resilience and sustain long-term sobriety.
Interventions
An intervention is more than an ultimatum—it’s a carefully orchestrated gathering of family, friends and addiction specialists designed to break through denial and launch the journey to recovery. Life Matters partners with families to plan and facilitate these crucial meetings for the best possible outcome.
Assessments
At Life Matters, every client undergoes a comprehensive assessment—reviewing their substance-use history and screening for medical, psychiatric, or psychological co-morbidities. Referrals are made as needed, and once all evaluations are complete, a personalised treatment plan is crafted.
Drug/Alcohol Screening
Our drug and alcohol screening accurately detects recent use—resolving disputes in cases of false accusations or mandated testing by family, healthcare providers, employers, or courts—and provides regular monitoring of each client’s progress in maintaining sobriety.
The path to recovery is never identical—each story, each person, each struggle is uniquely theirs.
But the destination is always the same.
The Life Matters Programme offers comprehensive outpatient care—whether you’re stepping down from a primary inpatient treatment or beginning your recovery journey with us. Research shows that sustained, continuous support leads to better outcomes.
We specialise in alcohol, drug, and other addictive behaviours, because true recovery transcends mere abstinence: it’s about reclaiming mental clarity, rediscovering purpose, and building a future grounded in health, self-respect, and possibility. With our personalised approach, you’ll create a life that’s fully aligned with your values, goals, and most authentic self.
Testimonials
“Wion & his team created a space for me to unpack my life, to truly understand myself and the motivation behind my behaviours. The group is a space where I learned more about myself than I ever realised was possible. It is through this learning that I get to choose differently for myself.
Life Matters ushered me into my new life, with tools to help me stay here. I will be forever grateful for the lessons in knowing myself, which keep me moving towards my best (sober) life.”
— Morgan
“Wion and the “Life Matters” team transformed my life. Through their kindness, patience, empathy and experience, I felt guided, reassured, encouraged and supported to embrace my personal transformation. Through my addiction, fear and reluctance they stood by me in friendship. I couldn’t recommend “Life Matters” more as it truly set the foundation for me to live my life in courage and sobriety. Wion has not only been an integral part in my recovery, but has become a close friend too.”
— Daniel
“Before I found Life Matters, I was lost in a cycle of addiction that felt impossible to break. I had been to rehab several times before, but nothing seemed to stick. I knew I needed to try something different; something that would actually help me rebuild my life, not just hit pause on it.
From the very first day, I felt seen, heard, and supported in a way I never had before. The team, especially Wion, played such a crucial role in helping me rebuild my life. His compassion, honesty, and unwavering support made all the difference.”
— Simone
“I first had the pleasure of meeting Wion some 5 years ago, and then being introduced to the very capable team at Lifematters. This was at a period when my long-term marriage was failing and unraveling fast.
Although Wion and his team had the experience and tools necessary to help me then, in hindsight, I simply did not have the capacity to soak in and absorb the guidance properly to make a difference, and yet during this roller-coaster period they were there to assist and help me navigate my way. The one-on-one and group therapy sessions were much needed and a source of comfort as well as gentle encouragement along the way.”
